Lisa and Daisy..The beginning

Welcome to my virtual stable! Here you will find a place where I will share my dream of owning and working with horses. This is not a real-life stable and I am not a real-life equestrian, so anything I post on this site is strictly for entertainment purposes only.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's begin with some introductions.

This is me: Lisa Dreamchild

And this is my best friend, Daisy:

Daisy may not look like an ordinary horse, and that is because she is a special, very rare breed of horse known as the Jorvik Wild Horse.

The fact that Daisy belongs to me is a miracle..but more miraculous than that is how I also belong to Daisy..because you see, Jorvik Wild Horses normally do not bond with humans. They are a very ancient breed of horse that has survived for almost a millennia in the deepest forests of Jorvik Island, a land shrouded in mystery known for it's folklore, friendly villagers, and of course, its many horses of nearly every breed known to mankind..and a few not so known as well!

Before we continue with the beginning of our story, I must introduce a very special little friend of Daisy and me:

Meet, 'Vision':

Vision is also quite the rarity..Most people will never meet a pure white raven! She sometimes gets mistaken for a dove, but I assure you she is, in fact, a raven!

Did you know that if you give a wild raven gifts, eventually they may give you a gift as well?

It's true! Normally when this happens, the bird will reward the person who gives them food with some small trinket like a pretty stone, or maybe a colorful flower..but not Vision.

You see, after a few weeks of leaving out some fresh berries and sunflower seeds for the lovely white raven who would sit on my windowsill peering in through the glass day after day, the friendly bird managed to get my attention by loudly rapping with her beak early one morning four years ago.

As this was not her usual behavior, I swiftly ran out of the cottage to see if everything was alright. My little winged friend did not get scared when I approached her, instead she hopped even closer towards me and that is when I noticed a peculiar object hanging from her pink beak..was that..a..clump of white hair?

When I reached my hand to take it from her, she promptly flew up and perched on a branch just out of my reach. I waited a moment to see what she would do next, when she glided back down, landing only a short distance from where she had been previously.

This time when I took a cautious step toward the bird..she playfully hopped backwards and lowered her head as if daring me to follow her! "Okay", I said.."I'll play your game, my friend!" and off she flew, once again landing on a branch nearby..then again, as the game continued, landing on a fence post..then on a tree stump, all the while I ran after her until I suddenly found myself deep in the forest, surrounded by very tall trees...

but still she led and I followed..this game went on for several more minutes when she finally flew into a meadow and slowly glided over to the cutest little foal who stood all alone in the big open area.

I quietly walked closer to the baby horse and noticed the little thing was softly snorting and looking very distressed, as if she was lost, and had been for a very long time!

The raven hovered in the air just above the foal and flapped her wings as if to tell me that this little girl needed my help. But what could I do? I had just arrived here on the island and knew next to nothing about caring for horses!

But the desperation in the poor foal's eyes, as well as the persistence of the raven was all the persuasion I needed to make the decision to guide the little horse back through the woods and into the fenced yard of the tiny cottage I had just inherited from my grandmother.

Honestly, I had no idea what I was going to do with the place after I found out that my grandmother left it to me. I thought I would wait and decide what was to be done until after the funeral..but that was several weeks ago now, and I still had no clue what to do..until that day when the white raven gave me a very special gift..a tiny horse with the strangest big tufted ears, and the thickest tail of pure white hair.

(Just like the ones the raven lured me with)

I will live here with Daisy and Vision and find a job. I heard the Starshine Ranch needed some temporary help. It's located nearby, so I can ride Daisy there and let her graze in one of their pastures while I work. Hopefully they will hire me.
